Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal on the Gentle Max Pro, priced by the size of the area treated: small areas such as upper lip, chin or underarms, through to full legs and full back. Hair grows in cycles, and the laser can only reach a follicle during its active phase, which is why this is a series rather than one appointment.

What to expect

Your appointment

Because of those growth cycles, any single session reaches only the part of the hair that is currently active. That is the whole reason packages of six exist for every area we treat, and why your provider will map out a schedule at the first visit rather than sell you a single session.

Sessions themselves are short, from around twenty minutes for a small area up to an hour for full legs or a full back. Your provider will go through skin tone, hair color and any sun exposure before the first pass, because all three change the settings she uses.

Before and after

Caring for your skin

Shave the area before you come in. It is the opposite of what most people expect, but it is what the laser needs.

The laser travels down the pigment in the hair to the bulb and destroys the follicle there. That is why it works less well on grey hair and not at all on white hair.

Your skin will be sensitive to the sun for about two weeks after a session, so be vigilant with sunscreen. It is also why we recommend starting in late summer or early fall.

After treatment, avoid anything that occludes the skin, such as Vaseline on the area. It holds in heat. Mineral makeup can be worn after most laser treatments.

Consultations are free. We do not guarantee results, and we do not want to take money from anyone who will not see great results.
